Worship Team Mission

Our goal is to bring before God a people who worship in spirit and truth, every day of the week.
We believe that everything we do should be done as an act of worship before our Heavenly Father.
The most important requirement for serving on the worship team is a member's "
Undistracted
Devotion" to God. We check our
UD regularly and hope you will too.
We hope that what we do will help you have an encounter with God.
Worship Team Vision

Our desire is to use the gifts, hearts, and resources of the people of Church of the Canyons to reflect who God is and why He should be adored and served in every moment of our lives.
Being that Church of the Canyons seeks to use the gifts and resources which God has supplied, the musical and artistic elements of worship will hopefully model a balance of the age and culture of her members.
A Psalm is a song written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. A Christian Hymn is a song written from the heart of man that is devoted to God. The original melodies to the Psalms have been lost but many songwriters have placed them to modern melodies and at Church of the Canyons we love to sing them. We also love to sing hymns and do not care what the publish date of the hymn is, so we sing songs written several hundred years ago and songs that were published this year. Our style of worship would be considered contemporary.
To the left of this article you will find some of our live worship. Copyright restrictions prevent us from posting most modern songs.

The Cup He bore
John does not say who soaked a sponge in some cheap wine and lifted it to Jesus' lips with a stalk of hyssop (v. 29). The Synoptics also leave this indefinite, but they say a kalamos was used (Mt 27:48 par. Mk 15:36), that is, a reed, a staff or a stalk. Perhaps John has referred specifically to a hyssop stalk to interpret what is taking place, since hyssop was used to sprinkle the blood of the lamb on the doorposts just before the Exodus (Ex 12:22) and later was used for other purifying rites (Lev 14:4, 6; Num 19:18; Ps 51:7). John would be drawing out the juxtaposition of Jesus as king and Jesus as lamb, similar to the description in heaven of the Lion of the tribe of Judah who turns out to be "a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain" (Rev 5:5-6).
