Daren Fennell

Christian Education Director

Since 2005, I have had the privilege of overseeing the Children's Ministries here at Church of the Canyons. I began attending this church in 2000, graduated from the Master's College in 2002 with a degree in Bible Exposition and from the Master's Seminary in 2009 earning a Master of Divinity degree. My role as the Christian Education Director involves overseeing the Sunday School ministry from preschool through 6th grade, as well as directing our annual Vacation Bible School and October Fall Festival. I love to be directly involved with helping kids grow in their understanding of God and His will for their lives. I am also a teacher at Santa Clarita Christian School and find that both positions allow me to help kids think about life and God from a biblical rather than a worldly perspective.

I came to Christ at the age of 19 after a fairly intense search for Truth. As a result, I have a passion for viewing all areas of life from a biblical perspective and believe that Christianity provides the answers to life's deepest questions. It brings me great joy to be able to communicate these answers to those who are asking such things. Some of my other passions include playing the drums, snowboarding, and even though I grew up in Southern California, playing hockey. Most of my immediate family lives out of state, but thankfully I have this church which I consider my second family.
