I grew up in a pastor’s family in the small town of Dublin, New Hampshire. As a child I was surrounded by Christians both in the school setting and in the church I attended. I prayed for the Lord to save me when I was seven years old, and I believe that was when God regenerated my heart to repent of my sin and pursue Him with my life. There were many situations that impacted me in the formative years of Junior High and High School. God used these events to constantly teach me about His love, His grace, and my obedience. Here are a few of those situations
- Adoption – My two younger brothers are both adopted. My youngest brother we adopted as an infant, and my other brother we adopted when he was nine years old. The Lord taught me much about His love for me in adopting me into His family. He taught me what it means to love someone who came into our family from a drastically different background than I had experienced.
- Moving churches – My family moved to Northfield, Massachusetts when I was a freshman in High School. This was the result of some tension in our church, and again I was learning to love people who did not see things the same way or agree on certain issues. I also was learning to function in a brand new church environment that was different from the one in which I had grown up.
- Changing schools – After moving to Massachusetts I spent a year doing home school, and I finished my junior and senior years in public high school. Here the Lord completely changed my view of evangelism as I began to realize that, along with speaking the Gospel, a Christian lifestyle is such an important witness to the changing power of God’s grace. It is also during this time that God gave me much more confidence in His plan for salvation, as I had struggled with doubt for many of the previous years.
I attended The Master’s University during my undergraduate years, and I received a degree in Bible Exposition. It was there in the theater arts program during my freshman year that I met my beautiful wife and best friend Beth. God’s kindness to us was shown in an ironic way since we met in California, and yet we lived less than two hours from each other on the East Coast! We were married on June 25, 2016, and we are excited to serve the Lord in the Church for the rest of our lives. I started attending Church of the Canyons during my sophomore year, and I never looked back. After three years of being a part of the college group ministry, the Lord saw fit to place me in the important role of Children’s Education Director before I was moved to oversee the Youth Group in 2017. I am currently pursuing a Masters of Divinity at The Master’s Seminary. In recent years God’s provision has been evident to me as He constantly cares for my needs, sanctifies me as I battle sin, and moves me along His perfect plan for my life.
